is making an updated version of a previous collab they did several years ago where each artist were assigned a Disney film, created a square picture representing that film, and then pieced together to create a collab picture that celebrated Disney's 50 films that they made. It has been several years since, and now they decided to make an updated version with the five new films that have been released since. Since I drew Pocahontas in the last one, I was assigned a different film and one of my favorites, Mulan. I wanted this picture to be dynamic like the Pocahontas on I made before, so here I wanted her to be in battle riding her horse, Khan. I went with an overall red color for the background so it can contrast with Mulan's Father's armor. I wanted this piece to show she may not conform to social norms, but it does not stop her from fighting for what is right.2017 has been a sad year for Mulan fans since two of the voice actors of the film have passed away. The first was Miguel Ferrer (1955-2017), the voice of Shan-Yu, and then legendary voice actress June Foray (1917-2017), the voice of Grandma Fa. May their spirits live on in their voices and performances.

Thanks. I was really sad when I learned June Foray had died, only two months shy from her 100th birthday! She played a huge role in the animation industry.
