Description
After debuting my picture of Gatomon transforming into Angewomon at Anime Zap!, many people wanted to see similar pictures of other digimon digivolving using the power of the crests. So I have decided to make a small series of Digimon Digi-Evolution pictures, featuring the eight digimon that fight along side the eight kids in the first anime series, all keeping the same composition for consistency. After holding a little vote on who to draw next, I made here Togemon ("Toge" is Japanese for "spike," "spine," or "thorn") transforming into Lillymon.Using the same method I did with the previous one, I drew these on paper with pencil, then shaded them with pencil, scanned the five pieces onto a computer where I colored them, and created the final composition.
Comment on which one you want to see next, but keep in mind I will eventually draw all eight of them.

I always though this was the weirdest transformation of the bunch. A boxing cactus becomes a flower lady? And yet it's still awesome? What the heck, Digimon!

Yeah, it is such an odd change. When I was planning out this transformation, I was concerned that the face was going to look very weird in the middle. So I had to cheat by having her twirl as she is transforming so I don't have to draw the face half way through the transformation. And thus, I don't have to worry about the face looking weird and distracting.
One tip when doing a transformation if you are worried that it is going to be difficult or not look right, is try to find a way to obscure it in a way that looks intentional. Transformation art require a lot of planning and layout.
I am planning to make the eight digimon who fight along side the kids. Now I have two of them done, Togemon to Lillymon and Gatomon to Angewomon. Who would you like me to make next?

Tentomon was always my favorite, because when he became Kabuterimon he looked like a xenomorph from Alien.

I am making the digi evolutions that require the crests to digivolve. So in this case, I would be making Angemon to Holyangemon (Magnaangemon).
