My entry for the contest about the Austrian army during the Napoleonic wars. At first I wanted to draw a potrait of little Napoleon Franz, but I wasn't sure if this matched the rules, so I decided to draw some good-looking uniforms and chose those two I found in a book in our university's library.Even if I don't win anything, it was a lot of fun to draw and I had the chance to try my new pencils and golden pens.

The hungarian side used to wear the blue pants. But the pant colors didnt count for calvary/hussars, only for infantry.

It's a shame combat army uniforms these days aren't as colourful and as fancy as these--[For obvious reasons though!]--and yet they are so distinguished!
