Biography:
Beatriz had been a thief and a pirate for as long as she can remember.

She was born in a port town in Spain, but lost her mother in childbirth, and was raised by her father who was a blacksmith for the Navy. From the moment she could walk, she practiced with a pair of daggers, having developed a fondness for them.

At the age of 9, Beatriz lost her father when his shop caught fire, orphaning her. She resented the Navy for not saving her father, and her life as a thief began. To get back at them, she began stealing gold and riches, developing the false belief that they owed them to her for letting her father die, and each time she stole, she perfected her escapes.

On one of her escapades around the age of 15, she ran into a boy, stealing a little bit of money from him. What she did not expect was to run into the boy again future. The second time around, she followed the boy thinking he would lead her to more treasures, only to be lead to a ship. She fell in love at the sight of the ship, and decided that one day she would stop the stealing she was doing now, and start stealing in style… as a pirate. For weeks afterwards, she would follow the boy to the ship, and gaze at its beauty.

Beatriz was 16 when she witnessed the death of the boy's parents. Feeling sorry for the boy (having become quite fond of him), she started leaving a small percentage of her daily steal on the front step of the shop, to help with his finances. Eventually, she was found out by the boy, whom she learned was named Raul, but instead of calling for the guards, he accepted her, and they became good friends. However, even her small contribution was not enough.

One day she found the shop up in flames and a group of boys laughing at their destruction. This reminded her of the destruction of her father's shop, and made her angry. There was no reason for Raul and his sister to suffer the same fate. She went after the boys in a fit of rage, telling those she did not kill to never show their faces around there again. They were never seen again after that.

A few weeks later, she managed a great steal and was bringing a portion to Raul, when she found him gone. Worried, she looked all over town for him with no luck. Figuring he skipped town, she used her spoils to buy a small ship similar to the one Raul's father own, and she set sail.

For six years, Beatriz sailed the mediterranean, her ship not large enough to travel farther. Just outside of her hometown, her crew (who grew greedy) committed a mutiny against her. She was forced to walk the plank into the water where she was mauled by a shark, losing her right eye. Miraculously, she managed to get herself to shore where she was now stranded once again without money or a ship.

However, this would not last long. A few months later, while running from some officers, a pendant in her hand, she literally ran smack into Raul. Surprised to see her old friend again after he had disappeared, she was caught off guard, and "rescued" by the man. When he mentioned he was looking for a crew to man his ship, she accepted immediately.

Now a crew member of the Carmesí Víbora, Beatriz does everything in her power to protect the ship and her captain.

You can almost always find her up on the foresail yard. She likes the wind and the view from there.
She has a tattoo of a large red skull-and-crossbones on her back and the cult symbol on the underside of her right wrist.
She lost her right eye in a shark attack, and has since worn a wooden replacement.
She tends to speak a mixture of Spanish and English. When she speaks English, it's with a heavy accent.
She has a fairly large ego when it comes to the Navy. When she steals from them, she usually rubs it in their faces before taking off.
Although she is a master escape artist, she has been caught few times, and has even made it to the gallows. However, a couple of those times, she made it to the gallows as a way of teasing the Navy before escaping.
Although she carries a pistol, she prefers using her twin daggers since she is better at short-range combat. (Her aim with a gun sucks due to missing an eye.). She has on occasion used a sword, but finds them a nuisance because of their longer blades.
She has been known at times to disregard the "Pirate's Code", claiming 'they are more like guidelines than actual rules.' (yes, I went there.)
She's claims to have only two fears, fire and childbirth. She lost her father to a fire then watched Raul's parents also die in a fire. Although she's not frightened by the act of childbirth itself, she is scare of giving birth herself. This fear came about after she heard the truth of her mother's death during childbirth.

Raul - She first met him when she stole some money from him. However, she developed a crush on the boy, and became close friends. Although her crush has faded into a childhood memory, she still regards him as a close friend and will do anything to keep him safe.
Nagis - He startled her at first when he started talking in his 'scarf mode'. Since then she's considers him a friend, and hopes he does as well. She cares a lot about him, and will often keep him wrapped up in a blanket and close to her body to keep him warm when he's in his amphiptere form. She also likes when he hangs out around her neck.
Amelia - She hates her. She feels the British girl has no right to be on this ship much less being the first mate.
Abby - They have become best friends as they got to know each other, and she has promised Abby she would look after Raul.
