Ha! He hasnt changed a bit, that lieutenant of Squad Nine. Im actually writing a fanfic where I become Captain of Squad Nine after Amagai Shusuke dies and Ive had my Bankai perfected and I take the test. I pass naturally and soon find that Squad Nine members are disappearing quickly. Ill tell ya the rest in one of my future journals.
