Both are feral teenage girls who have giant canine companions, are socially inept towards other humans, live in environments filled to the brim with giant monsters, and have a beef with older women (San has Eboshi and Annie has Irene).I'm seriously surprised nobody's made any connection to this since the MonsterVerse is full of Ghibli references.
