I've already posted this figure in the past but I thought I should add it to the official Kaiju Toybox folder for the heck of it. Back in college I had promised myself if I hunkered down and got through my exam prep I would reward myself with a Godzilla figure off ebay I didn't have, so once I did all my work I ordered what I thought was going to be a normal colored Scarred Godzilla from Tokyo SOS. As it turns out I unwittingly bought off a Chinese seller who sent me.....this hilariously off colored little thing, which is NOT what was pictured. I couldn't even be mad, the colors were so off but the figure was really solid, so I just decided to keep it and buy the regular, official figure at a later date. This figure is a little smaller than the real one as it is a boot, but the colors according to message boards I've seen could be all over the place, with any number of different combinations of colors, but for my tastes the pale pink and greens were actually pretty appealing, so I just keep this guy now as a funny reminder of how you really need to double check when you make ebay purchases, especially from China.

Well, I think this adds fuel to the myth that Godzilla is green if it were something or (which clearly is only a myth).

And here it is! Haha, yea, you need to be careful on eBay these days. I do have some boots in my collection, some unintentionally bought, some of them, well, they were cheap. However, I don't really wish to support any kind of bootleg anymore, since it's basically stealing a figure mold and selling it for themselves.
Even though I heard some of the SHMA King of the Monsters figures may or may not be getting bootleged.
A cheaper alternative to Ghidorah is tempting to a NECA collector like me.

I was hearing rumors about the Monsterarts for KOTM 2019 getting boots out there already, made me glad I secured my pre-orders through reputable toy companies I've known for years rather than having to scout around on Ebay. I wouldn't be opposed to picking up a cheap boot of a figure I already have like the 2019 Godzilla just to customize it, say if I got the urge to do a Fire Godzilla custom paint job, but otherwise yeah I try to stay away from them as well since I've been stiffed at least twice by Chinese sellers who pretended they were legit and then ran with the money and never sent an item.

Very weird seeing the 1999/2000 coloration on the 2002/3 suit! (And the bad thing it this bootleg looks better than the SDCC Bandai exclusive '54 figure haha!)

Can't argue with that, the cheap repaint of the 1954 figure isn't really much of anything special when they could offer something far more interesting. I mean at LEAST it would have been nice for the exclusive to be related to the 2019 film or, heaven forbid a NEW MOLD of a long desired monster in the line, but I'm a dreamer and dreaming is what we do
