This one looks more like a fish creature, being that the sails look more like gills and fish fins, like what's on the creature of the black lagoon.

I always pictured Gigan as more of an avian-based creature before becoming a cyborg, possibly flightless, like a therapod. Still, this is a wonderfully done drawing and looks amazing!

i always thought Gigan was more of a 'Frankenstein' monster sewn together from multiple kaiju, but still interesting.

I like this idea "what it looked like before" which is cool and can be very experimental in it's design. I always thought Gigan was a bird creature but who knows cause it's too robotic now.

personally, I always viewed gigan as originally being a lizard/bird hybrid before becoming a cyborg (with possibly a little insect mixed in). nonetheless, great pic

For my own G-Universe Gigan used to be a "friend" of Godzilla but then Gigan gets mind-controlled by the Xilians at the time of Monster 0 but gets killed by Godzilla. The Xilians then obtain Gigan's corpse and roboticize it with cyborg parts to fight Godzilla.

cyborg gigan was only in final wars. in no point in the Godzilla trilogy does it mention him being mechanical. sometimes in Japanese fantasy creatures have weird impossible body features for no reason, like organic jetpack on Gamera or the drills on megalon. but we all know that Gamera and megalon aren't cyborgs. they are just weird aliens with natural metal parts.

But there was an explanation that Megalon's metal is ALL NATURAL. Gigan isn't, only Megalon is. Besides, would a natural creature have a buzzsaw in his belly?

what all natural creature would have rotating drills hands without the rest of it's body moving with it? or jet engine for a shell? or have giant organic crystals naturally growing out their bodies instead of spikes of bone? 3 words, Japanese-mutant-aliens

whether he is a cyborg or not one thing is for certain. he is (at least partially)organic to some degree. and the parts of him that "are" organic do NOT look anything like that parts of him in the picture.
