Description
Mike O'Brien asked me to draw an updated version of Godzookie for him .It was an easy design but then , almost anything would have been an improvment over the original .

This is amazing! From your comments I think Godzooky is the Jar Jar Brinks from the old Hanna Barbara cartoon.

I like this but I in my variation (I plan in doing my own redesign of the godzilla monsters) godzilla can't fly but it's more like a flying squirell u no? Kinda like this but flying squirell wings. Great drawing! May I use it for inspiration? It won't look a lot like it but like with scales and muscle detailing I suck at it and texture on the face that kinda stuff.

this was a redesign of the Hanna/Barbara Godzookie creature from the Godzilla power hour . godzookie could fly using these dumb wing things growing from his armpits . in my redesign , I ditched the armpit wings .

Yes,I am hopeing for "Godzilla & Godzookie vs Mega Python vs Gatoriod" or "Godzilla & Godzookie vs Mega Sharks".
Someone has to get rid of all the giant pests,then destroy BP Patrolium and Tony Heyward for polluting the Gulf.
Oh,I also hope Don Fyre gets a role in a SciFi Original too,but don't expect Megumi Odaka/Miki Saegusa to be in some catfight with Tiffany and Debbie-watch this Saturday night's SciFi Original Mega Python vs Gatoriod for the girl vs girl smackdown.

i saw it as a kid when it originally ran . i thought it was cool back then as well . never liked the look of the old godzookie . it was hard to be a godzilla fan with zookie around at the time .

In the old Hanna Barbara cartton,Godzookie was refered as a "nephew" relative of Godzilla. I belive Godzilla had a peaceful sister who during Cretacous Dinosaur era times met and mated with a good decent space dragon creature,both became parents and decided to hide their new baby/egg inside a huge frozen icy polar ice pack before the Dinosaur Killer asteroid hit Earth.
Unfortunately Moleage the female Godzilla and alien space dragon Mirage died,but thier baby Godzookie lives on,found by a American science team and the egg taken to the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History,there a JSDF/G-Force 'Junior Daikaiju Zoologist in training' under the wing of Professor Hayashida science intern naned Miki Saegusa encounters and first meets the hatched baby "Next Great Sharptooth" protector of Mother Earth,Godzookie.
As fate would have it,Miki Saegusa became a 'mother' and mentor to Godzookie and Godzookie became Miki's most trusted friend and loyal protector.
Together Miki Saegusa and her 'son' Godzookie help save Earth from many Alien monster attacks ( CLOVERFIELD!!!) and they both try to convince angry 'Uncle Godzilla' that Humans are not truely the enemy,but defrosted hostile prehistoric monsters,alien daikaijus and the defrosted released The Blob are truely the danger to Earth.
Either way,only Miki and Godzookie can save Mankind,if only Uncle Godzilla will agree to listen.

How did you manage to make Godzookie look cool, and actually kinda threatning, while still having him be sort of cute?

the idea was to make godzookie actually resemble a baby godzilla so i took baby godzilla out of the 1992 'godzilla vs. mechagodzilla' and gave it wings . sorta like it was part rodan from that movie .
the idea of minya with wings or little godzilla never came to mind until now and i'm glad i didn't use them .

Yep. Frank decided to change the wings,the old Hanna Barbara Godzookie had wings on the arms,this new one has wings on the back like a dragon.
Just had to see what a possible Toho Godzookie may look like. Thank You Frank.
Speaking of drawing this one,Hanna Barbara Godzookie might be a cute goofball,just as long as is NOT a TriStar Iguana with wings,then this is just fine with me.
