From the William Schoell novel of the same name. This kaiju is indeed a homage to the Rhedosaurus and Paleosaurus as intended by the book's author and he mentioned it in an interview with Allen Debus in an issue of G-Fan magazine. This creature has the ability to shapeshift and it's a human-alien mutant hybrid with the ability to transform into the creature pictured here. In his human form he goes by the name Gareth Bronmore and also can harness the same energy he uses to transform to perform feats that we might consider magical in nature.Β

It's a very good read, and one of the earliest works of kaiju-fiction that predates the Random House Godzilla books even. Amazon is where I bought my paperback copy and it has since been released as an e-book.Β www.amazon.com/Saurian-Williamβ¦

i'll bet. i wish Monsterverse will include it and i'll bet it was responsible for the destruction of the USS Lawton ship as Bill Randa (played by John Goodman) tried to mention in Kong Skull Island.
