Description
I was so intrigued by the song by Blood Ceremony and the visual idea I had in my mind, that I had to draw a different version to fully explore that idea.
On the one hand I wanted to try a different kind of toad and on the other hand I wanted to experiment with the mood and dotwork technique.
In this drawing I omitted the aura around the toad and the starry sky and aimed for a more vague twilight ('Hop Toad I' feels more like out of a fairytakle book, this drawing now feels more 'occult' to me).
I also changed the pure black forest in the background and tried a gradation of darkness.
And most important, every dot was made along a ruler, while in the other drawing I stippled more freely.
