Description
I think it’s time to share some hot shit.
This is the most famous illustration of Baphomet made by Eliphas Levi.
(I didn’t draw this, I just added the colored lines)
One day I stared at the picture of Baphomet and meditated about its meanings and suddenly I began to see signs forming out of its body.
So I used the distinctive spots (red marked) of Baphomet’s body as fixed points and connected them with the green and blue lines you can see in the picture.
I’m sure I am not the first one who discovered this, but I never read about it or saw anything alike.
I’m curious if Eliphas Levi intended all this or if this is coincidence or just my mind. I think it’s important enough to share.
At least for me it opened some doors…
The Symbols besides some thoughts of me, left to right:
- Unicursal Hexagram (symbol of Aleister Crowley’s Thelema, Crowley thought of himself as reincarnation of Levi)
- Seal of Saturn (Saturn as Guardian of the Threshold)
- Seal of Lucifer (Lucifer the Light Bringer)
- regular {7/2} Heptagram (also Sigil of BABALON)
- Two Pentagrams
- Two sulfur symbols combined in the middle (well, this is probably just something I wanted to see… but the symbol of infinity, the lemniscate of Bernoulli, was something also the freemasons used)
- Hexagram with Eye of Providence in the middle
- Kabbalistic Tree of Life
In the meantime I found some more symbols.
There seem to be a lot more, a never ending well of correspondences and wisdom.
So in the end it doesn’t matter if there actually is an intended deeper meaning, because the creative mind can develop those meanings itself.
