1-2 times I found all, but the last Β ones weren't really fun at all at King William's camp, those secrets were hidden in the past era, couldn't get both secrets during one full moon, had to wait 4 hours to the next occasion.Β

Very nice!
Why is it that you made Kain on the defensive, rather than the offensive?

Thank you!Β
I wanted to keep it's concept similar to the original box render (and maybe the influence of 300, I was watching it when I designed the scene)Β

It doesn't really bothers as Blood Omen had limits of animation I guess, a shield was planned to be the part of Kain's gear (in that smithy where the shield is painted on the floor early in the game) but it was deleted for the final version.Β
Probably it's just his instincts. It's a subconscious thing to block attacks without being told.Β

I actually see the blocking in BO2 as a kind of character development for Kain through game mechanics. Kain doesn't block in the other games because he thinks he's invincible. He doesn't need to take the time to stay still and defend himself, he either goes right on the offensive or uses range intelligently. In BO2, Kain starts off knowing that he's weakened and has to accept that he needs to worry about losing. As he goes further into the game and enemies use guard breaks more often, it almost forces the player to block less and play almost as if Kain has regained his confidence/ arrogance.
I see that as an interesting use of games to tell stores- using strategy shifts to put player into the mind of the hero as they have to adapt to new situations. In fact, BO2 lets you play as if Kain were still arrogant the whole way through by turning off assisted blocking. It does nothing but make the game harder- something Kain would appreciate.

He rather felt vulnerable in Blood Omen than invincible, he needed to drink from those magical blood fountains to gain resistance. By the end of the game it wasn't arrogance that made him go against anyone without thinking, it was rage that fueled him like the berserkers when he realized he was overthrown. Still he was supposed to block with shields, for a reason it wasn't considered necessary.Β
(There's it's twin The Witcher, you have two-handers to fight with and can't block either)Β
I like the fact Kain can get hurt and ran through by long swords, it's good to see our hero not only gives the cruel treatment but also can recieve a lot himself too. Invincible characters are a piece of crap.Β
As for the "other games" I don't put the green orc into account, it plays in Defiance only anyways and the whole fight is dulled down to kid-safe level. Just slapping up the enemies with a funny speed as if greeno had an epileptic seizure. And only got knocked over if it didn't jumped out of the way of an enemy poke. As if they fought with wooden sticks.Β

Many things became harmful to him like bright sunlight, rain, snow and such. Sure he's certain about he can kill anyone, but one thing he believes that and that's another issue when he got the painful end of a sword.Β
That's entertaining to learn the strategy how your game character has to fight with the possible less harm than spoiling the gameplay with an invincibility cheat. That kills the challenge whatever your characters do, they can't get hurt at all.Β
The rebooted Tomb Raiders are fun in this meaning too, the game is very creative with the many brutal ways of butchering Lara Croft, both in fights and accidents, topped with a lot of blood.Β
