I'm starting to think that maybe, for a while, I should just draw/paint flowers or something similar. Things that are relatively easy, forgiving, and colorful. Everything is so dreary and overwhelming these days, I just need some small corner of my life that isn't bleak and depressing. Though even art has long been tainted for me by myself already. I always feel like I have to do some massive project or masterpiece that's boldly original, intriguing, and/or thought-provoking. My perfectionism demands it. Through that lens, this drawing feels like a piece of shit. It's lame. Boring. Stupid. Weak. It's not enough. It's not big enough, bold enough, daring enough, original enough, interesting enough, etc. Which is why I almost never draw or paint anymore. I hate my perfectionism. It's the real piece of shit, I know. But I haven't figured out how to make it go away. =/
