A strong personification of the heart. It would make a good subject for a rather grisly illustration.

your poetry is really quite amazing. you have this ability to masterfully skirt around what you are talking about, only touching the very edges of it, while still creating a complete image. As always, I am impressed at how easily you can coax the image into the reader's mind.
