interesting! we only use paws for soft squishy skin like a dog or a cat has.. hooves are fingernails on a goat or a cow..

according to babelfish, portuguese for hooves is 'cascos'

Interesting indeed, I didn't know that! Oh, sure, we have a word for hooves (you're right, it's 'cascos' XD), but any kind of animal leg can be called a paw here lol Even hands, we sometimes call it paws XD Learning everyday

Oh, I guess I'm aware of it. I once read a small dictionary with all the sorts of Youkais e_e Bakemonos, Mononokes, Tsukumogami, Yousei, Oni, Tennin, Yuurei and what not. If there's a group of people that loves creating mystery and myths, surely would be the japanese folks XD
