yeah, it's hard to keep track of everything. I recommend getting a giant binder to sort everything out. I also create grids and charts that help organize how characters, places, things all realtes to one another within that galaxy.

yes, that is better than nothing. but it is considered far better to get the copyright should you run into an legal or marketing concerns. They are not incredibly expensive these days here in the United States. Not sure about Australia.
