So I was searching through a bunch of my old art and apparently, when I was around 8 or so, I had this dragon char named Sai Hu. Well, I haven't drawn a dragon since I was little either, so I'd thought I'd resurrect this old char of mine.His name means "Swifter than Tiger" in Chinese. Sai Hu has the ability to control the weather and climates. When he's happy or pleased, the sky is clear and the sun shines bright. But when angered, he calls on the storm clouds to fill the sky and unleashes his rage in the thunder and lightning bolts.

This is such a cool dragon character! I love his coloration: the red and purple with grey and black is really striking. I like his expression, too.

Yep! Different=awesomeness. At least I think so. The more different, the more original something looks. Though sometimes artists will get too carried away with complex markings, and sometimes that will take away from the character. That's certainly not the case for your char,though.

O.o;;; Wow, I just kinda criticized KC's pic of Sai Hu, and (without having seen this one) I told him to make changes that would have made it look almost identical to this one! xDDD I basically unknowingly told him to make it look just like the way you have it here!
I said to give him a more rugged edged snout, more pronounced plates on the underbelly, and a distinguishing turn in the neck where it joins the head and the rest of the body!
(altho, they don't look as much like plates in this pic, so I guess I looked at that part of the dragon in the wrong way, but this pic basically did most of the stuff i told lightliger to do to his pic! xDD)

That looks very good for an eight year old, almost too good ^^ Hes very interesting and cool looking. I hstarted to draw dragons when i younger.And now sometimes.

I know he isn't that hard. Just it's kind of hard to draw him not knowing exactly what his full body looks like in person or in a picture. I have to use the pictures you showed me to draw him.
