Carnival let loose a guttural scream into the sky, yet it wasn’t one that cradled agony, instead the sound dressed itself in painful anger, the cry of a predator who has lost his honor, by becoming cornered prey. This then segued into him bursting into a desperate manic charge towards the doctor.
Aleksei was caught off guard by the crazed advance through the flames that bit at the assassin’s clothing as he ran. Carnival bent his knees extremely low and propelled himself into the air with a demented snarl.
“I’M GOING TO PAINT YOU RED!!!” he howled.
There was no time to look for a merciful alternative. Aleksei quickly channeled a large portion of nearby heat into his prosthetic hand. He constructed a dagger made of fire and held it in a reverse grip.
As Carnival descended upon him, Aleksei prepared to meet him head on. Carnival continued his guttural battle cry throughout the entire sequence. Aleksei was half tempted to let out his own, but held it back through gritted teeth.
