A flash of light, and then nothing. She lay unconscious on the arid plains of Aviarey, the kingdom of birds. The morning suns broke the deep amethyst skies, warming her body as she remained huddled on the ground. She would wake up, back in bed, safe and sound and listening to the spring rain. This was just a dream...right?
