LOL Thanks... I really just sketch when I'm doing the shading.

I've been having a rough time trying to coerce my portrait style into some realistic-anime hybrid style and it is not working out at all. I never realized defining a style could be such a pain in the ass...it's too time-consuming. XP
When I blend and shade things with digital stuff, half of it looks too detailed in the wrong places. But one day, I want to make cute art like yours. (Well, not exactly like yours since it's...you know, your style, but cute stuff in my own style...you know what I mean.) =]

You know what helped me make my anime style more realistic and detailed? Drawing real people for along time xDDDD
Like, in my AP art class, especially senior year, I drew a lot of figures and faces and since anime wasn't allowed, I forced myself to draw realistically.
It helped a lot xD

I normally draw nothing but realistic pictures, that's the thing. My anime stuff comes out too realistic and it looks really warped with huge eyes, but weirdly detailed mouths and noses. x_x
I wonder if I should try doing the reverse of what you did for now. Draw nothing but anime stuff to really warm up to it and then try adding realistic touches gradually until I'm comfortable. Do you think that might work? XD
