Description
War paint is a typically Sebralian tradition. It dates back to the times of clan wars, when each clan used their own unique palette for easier identification of their allies and their enemies. This innovation quickly grew popular and was incorporated as a societal custom, showing off one's loyalism and often rank, even outside of battle. With the rise of civilizations that quelled the seemingly endless conflicts, war paint lost its initial significance and leaned fully into a rather formal usage. Nowadays, sabers use their war paint for much merrier social events like ceremonies, festivals or weddings, usually in combination with ornaments and braids.
I really enjoy sketching around feline faces!
I have to say I wasn't entirely sure of saber Tomoe's design in the beginning, it felt unfinished/like I could make it better. But now it really grew on me! Especially with the thick mane
Anyway, here's Tomoe with some war paint! I'm so excited and motivated to work on Thira again ever since we added the sabers in. We're working on a very detailed map of the whole continent (continents?) right now and we really like how it's turning out! Once it's finished, we're going to print it out and put it on our wall
