Description:

Set in Outworld, right at the end of King Onaga's reign. The story primarily follows Lifen and Zumurrud; two sisters who were separated at a young age. Secondary plotlines revolve around Shao (Kahn) and Shr Lin. The latter becomes the founder of Earthrealm's Lin Kuei clan, and is a distant ancestor to Kuai Liang and Bi Han.

Lots of new characters here, although I did use some obscure ones, such as Kali, aka "Qali" from Mortal Kombat: Conquest. The Undead General, who was a scrapped character from Mortal Kombat: Deception. And Komodai, a Saurian ninja from Defenders of the Realm. Both Komodai and the mysterious General are loyal subjects of Onaga. Ras and Alghul are symbiotic characters, just like Ferra and Torr, although I only depicted the young lady Ras here. Madam Makadee would be a Shokan female, but not the big hulking brute type. Makadee is the Hindi word for "spider". She'd possibly have six arms, like Grum and Kollector, but I'd retcon the introduction of the new "Naknada" species, and simply classify this six-armed race as another subspecies of the Shokan. Gen Dao is a new villainous character. Kobalt is Shr Lin's student and partner. Dacura's a Tarkatan miscreant who killed the father of Lifen and Zumurrud. I was considering names; "Baraka", "Karbrac", "Barracuda", "Dracula", "Durac", but settled on "Dacura".

Onaga himself isn't included. I'd rather introduce him for the "Deception" storyline; set in the future. I used the subtitle "Sinister Star" for this 'chapter'. I have worked out a storyline for this, but haven't finished it (yet), and this is my personal favorite piece of fan fiction that I've come up with, as it branches off in multiple directions, spans several 'ages', and allows me to explore aspects of Outworld that I think help flesh out and (hopefully) enrich its reality. Using these 'new' characters, you can sort of wander along the boundaries of established lore, historicities and characters, and create this alternate point of view, while remaining true to those pre-existing 'markers', and it's just fun to do..
