It was another tiring cycle. It was another tiring day fighting the Autobots, leading to yet another day of defeat. It had become so regular, that it somehow become a 'schedule'. A daily routine starting with Megatron coming up with a brilliant plan, the humans calling for help, the Autobots coming to their rescue, ending with Megatron calling for retreat.
"We have been beaten once again, oh, glorious, LEADER." Starscream jeered. He, along with his other Decepticon forces, were all getting testy during the past few weeks. They were all mad and impatient for a long-awaited victory for once.
"SILENCE YOU FOOL!" Megatron yelled, Starscream cowering. Megatron was sitting right next to his second-in-command, which was strange, because of they're well known dislike for each other. "We WILL triumph next time!" He declared.
"Yes, yes, yes..." The winged tri-colored mech mumbled, trailing off, looking out of Astrotrain's window to his left. The stars remained unchanged, and was forever welcoming to Starscream. The Deep Space and Skies, along with their inhabitants always accepted him, always made him feel he wasn't alone. And, that, he was always welcome within their unlimited expanses.
He could feel his low-power levels going off silently within him. It wasn't critical, just a warning to tell him to recharge soon. His optics were soon becoming heavy, and he was blinking several times to keep himself awake. He closed his optics, and soon drifted to his right. Which was occupied with his meditating superior officer deep in thinking for his next scheme.
He was startled from his thoughts, when he felt slight weight on his shoulder and arm. He turned to see what/who it was and was surprised. Starscream was in recharge on his shoulder, holding his arm close to his body for what seemed, for dear life.
Megatron didn't know what he should do. He didn't know if he should just embrace the moment and let his CUTE second sleep gently on him, or shove him off and blast him.
Wait. Did he just call Starscream, CUTE?!
Well, to be honest... Starscream, was, pretty cute when he wasn't complaining or trying to overthrow him.
Megatron stared at Starscream for a few blissful moments. His wings fluttered every time he breathed, his eyes daintily closed, and... His warmth radiating on his arm. Seekers were naturally warmer than other Transformers, because they fly at frigid atmosphere and space altitudes.
Starscream's warmth was strangely calming to Megatron. He saw Starscream's soft lips open and close when he gently and quietly inhaled and exhaled. He never noticed Starscream like this before. He never knew that he could ever be so... beautiful.
Megatron made up his decision. Megatron stared at Starscream, with a approving, light, smile. The flight back to their base wouldn't be as boring now. Now that Megatron was content having his beautiful, second-in-command, Starscream blissfully recharging on his shoulder.
