Description Kaku's Rambles 190 - Maybe Vampires, Maybe Geese?

So I've actually been kicking this title up the chain for at least the past 8 of these. I'm not quite sure why, but I find myself thinking a heck of a lot more about how dumb it is to think that God is a just and kind person, when humanity, who is supposedly created in their image, immediately turn into monsters when there is no punishment for being monsters to other supposed beings. Now, before we get too deep into religious discussions that will go nowhere, let's talk about some video game examples.

Primarily, and obviously, the first proof of this comes in the form of Untitled Goose Game. Said game, which I haven't played, seems to be a checklist of just harassing all of the locals and making their lives miserable just because you can. Granted, I still haven't touched the damn game, but it's kind of everywhere. It has shown up in memes and across the bowels of the interwebs for a while. Then it sort of stopped. So maybe it's not the best proof of the matter.

Well, alright, what about the Sims? You're given tools and such to make the perfect life for your avatars but the basic thing everyone seems to do immediately is kill off every sim they have for fun. Watch them drown to death in a pool without a ladder to get out? sure. Have them starve to death because you take away the doors to their house? Sure. Hell, some people just start up fires just for fucking fun to kill an entire house. Now, again, I don't get or like the Sims but I have played Sim City and have many times just opened up a starter city and plowed it to the ground with disasters just to fuck shit up. That's absolutely just how you extract fun from that game a lot of the time.

Well, okay, fine, let's talk about games I have played. Like inFamous 1. Where you are given super powers by the will of a fucking random event, and you can choose from there to either go immediately evil or immediately saintly. Who cares what you can do, most people just go around and blow up people left and fucking right. Well, electrically kill them. A lot of people seem to really love to just massively murder folks in these open sandbox games. Like Just Cause 2, as well, where you just use regular guns and cars and shit to blow people to hell and back.

Shit, maybe this is the kind of thing that makes people think that games turn kids into killers. However, I'd say that it's more that games give an outlet for killers to exert that sort of behavior out harmlessly and not turn the world upside down with terror. Kids rip everything to shreds as they grow up, and then suddenly are told to cut that shit out, and taught morals and whatever. Most of them turn out just fucking fine, but somewhere, inside of every person, there's just some bit of violence and hatred that needs boiling out.

That's my point, really, that if humans are cast in the image of their gods, then there's no fucking way in hell that God is a creature of empathy, caring and forgiveness. We have to learn that shit, and if you're a Monotheist, who the hell can teach your God how to act and behave towards his creations?

Oh, right, fuck, I forgot about the Vampires in the title. I don't know, I guess I've just had those on the brain as well. Let me see if I get a coherent thought about them and we'll meet back here next week. Love you all, have a good day and try to keep the comments clean!
