If you want to have non-gritty pics, it would be suggested that you separate the outline layer from the color layer and use the brush to color instead of the bucket tool (or set the coloring style to 'behind', but I think the first seems easier for you).

If shades and highlights are given to the figure, she will really pop out more than if you were to leave her with base colors.

I hope this information helps

Wow! Looks great so far; I'll admit that's what my pics kinda looked like with my first time with Paint.NET.

This is pretty good actually, Gio! I could give you some tips for working with it, if you want me to ^^ I actually learned a couple of tricks with Paint.NET XD

Back to the pic though. I love the pose; KittyRawr is obviously very good with hand poses :3 and I like the colors you used, as well as the gradient BG. She looks simply beautiful in this pic... ^_^

Definitely ing ^^

Sure, I'll give you one I learned just recently:
When you want to shade something or lighten something, use Black and White colors set at an Alpha Value of around 10-20 for transparency. Then, to make sure you only get the edge of what you're shading, highlight what you want to shade with the Magic Wand tool. The transparent Black is for shading, while the transparent White is for brightening. ^_^

And here's one I've known for a long time:
If the artwork was sketched, you might wanna start on a perfectly inked lineart. This will make the Paint Bucket much more effective when you go to color. To do that, create a new layer above the background layer before you do anything else with the pic and trace over the sketch on the new layer, using the original sketch on the Background Layer as a guide. For more efficiency, you might want to lineart certain features separately, such as the body, head, Galva Suit and Cyber Tail (in your case). This way, the picture is easier to manipulate.

Hope all that helps; if you like, you can leave this comment up here for other people to see who have Paint.NET, since I find these tips I discovered to be extremely helpful! ^_^

Nevertheless, i'm really starting to like Nega Neon. Slowly, but surely.

=KittyRawrz certainly did an awesome job.

So did you, with the coloring. Maybe try to get rid of those white lines.

To smooth out the coloring.
