Description A drawing for of a rat girl surviving in the dangerous desert wastes off the trade of trinkets and treasures. I tried out a few new techniques with my media in this one to give starker shading, better environmental texture, and shinier metal.

Ink, colored marker, and watercolor on 9x12" cold press board.

P.S. I've read two of Paul's novels ("Whisper of Wings" and "Fangs of K'aath") and I can totally endorse both of them. Very enjoyable reads!

Aside from the the amazing detail of the gun and armor. I love the tape on the stock. Gives it a cool authentic look or insight I wouldn't have thought of. Interesting ammunition that gun seems to use.

You modified a Calico rifle? I know the Helix magazine has it's faults and 9mm rounds aren't as accurate in a longer carbine barrel but c'mon,. I'm messing with ya, but i must honestly ask if you created that or if it's an actual gun. it has the G3 FAL appearance with the combination of a grease gun. I'm curious to know what ink you use?

any who i love your use of blending of the colors and how i can't tell what is marker, watercolor or ink. that shows you skill at blending your mixed media together. I also, and always have, love the way toy compose your drawings. you hit the nail on the head perfectly, not to hard not to soft. you don't over load your drawing and you don't under shot them ether accept on one part. lol some times i feel that your gun drawing are so technical that they take away from your whole composition, i noticed this in you past drawings but i like how you leed the eye away form your perfectly drawn weapons to the characters. in thesis drawing you did it using a thick black for her glasses. your composition does leed the eyes around the page. The only suggestion that I have for your work is MORE SHOTGUNS!! preferably blued barrel non tacticla ones maybe?

if it's makeshift, it's always badass. plus, I know how to make my own shotgun should the need arise.
