The Yin -Yang is the blance between Heaven and Earth, the Spirit and the physical, between the dark and the light.The Dragons represent the physical where as each of the four "winds represent the Spirit.
The North and West "winds" surround the Yin - the dark half or the darker part of the Spirit.
The East and South "winds" surround the Yang - the light half or the lighter half of the Spirit.
You can not have one with out the other. There is a light and dark side to every living thing. We must reach a Balance between the two to fully enjoy life.

Great design, and I enjoyed the concept and overall Oriental feel in this piece. It's spiritual and mystical, which is a lot of essence despite the seemingly simple design. Details on the dragons are attractive, and I like how the words and the central sign have a 3D or embossed feel to them.
Having dragons at all four corners would seem to create more balance from my simplistic point of view, but perhaps you have a basis for only including two in this piece.

oh very cool! im very picky when it comes to dragon types but i like yours. this would make a great bed cover and pillows to go with it. very nice.

Simplistic but still beautiful. I like the monocromatic colour sceme... Also the play on the word "Balance" is nicely portrayed here. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the red light fanning out behind the Yin Yang. But thats just me

I really like this piece... the ying/yang & elemental symbols denote strength (variable yet infallible) as well as their inevitable balance. The red sphere is surprisingly soothing although it is a recognised power colour. All & all I think everything works well together & must subsequently state that it is a most well named piece.
