Wow this took a long time. I think I spent more time on the shading than I did the background...

SO, like I promised, there is a reason I'm drawing this.

A year ago, something happened to me that was absolutely devastating. If I think about it too long, even now I still get sad about it. Not because I'm still upset, but because I was in such a dark place. I can still remember waking up every morning and realizing what I had dreamed about was just that - a dream - and that my new life in hell wasn't going to change. I hurt. I don't remember ever feeling pain like that before, and I haven't since.

And, in the same way that you get excited every year around Christmastime, I find myself a bit sad right now. Not because I regret decisions I've made or wish for the life I had before said event: I am sad because this time of year brings upsetting memories rather than good ones.

SO, in memorial (I suppose?), I drew this.

I promise with all of my heart that I'm okay! I'm better than okay, actually! I just kind of rolled with a few memories and fueled them with "Back to December" by Taylor Swift . AND I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THE SONG CHOICE WAS MERELY FOR THE MOOD, NOTHING ELSE.

Anyways. Enough of my blabbering. I hope you guys like the picture! I really had a good time with this one
