The wings are beautiful. I don't know how I feel about relying so heavily on markers, though - I'm a bit of a purist, and I like the challenge of using only pipe cleaners, nothing else. Still, nice work.

The colors are absolutely stunning. At first I was wondering where on earth you managed to buy stems that fade into multiple colors like on the tail feathers there, then I started reading comments and learned that I need to shop for pens. Amazing how such a luscious effect can be achieved through the use of simple tools.
The only curious thing I note is that when looking at the phoenix from the side, the sparse placement of the head feathers makes it look a little bald. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not.
I also must know: how robust are your sculptures? I mean, are they constructed solid enough that they could be played with like action figures, or are they more delicate and for the eyes only?

Hey there! Aww, thanks so much! Yep, it's done using Copic markers, though I bet really any marker would work. Pipe cleaners don't soak up the ink immediately, so you can blend easily (and then get your fingers covered in red when you touch it before it dries |D;; ).
You're totally right about the feathers on the head and that wasn't quuuuite intentional. More from laziness, than anything, to be honest . And also because I ran out of room to spear in pipe cleaners, since, it's hard to tell, but this guy's only like three inches tall xD. But as he's now in a new home, as I sold him, I can't fix it . I hope the new owner's taking good care of him...that's the problem with selling things x);. ...I kind-of wish I hadn't sold him--I didn't like how he turned out at the time, but now...I have a strange fondness for the semi-bald lil' phoenix XD. Ah, well, that's the life of an artist, I s'ose. I'll make a new version one of these days...-digression!- Heh.
And hmm...I think they're pretty sturdy! When I was much younger, I used to make them as toys for myself (though...those will stay forever buried in a closet somewhere, quite hidden |D), and those used to fall apart at times, oops. My current ones, though, don't--although, when I used to use no glue at all, their eyes would sometimes fall out a year later or something xD. But, yeah, now they're pretty sturdy. I've made/given some to my 8-year-old cousin, too, and she plays with them...rather roughly, and yet the last time I saw, they were just fine! Hooray! I wouldn't like...throw them against a wall and bend their legs back and forth, however |D;.
....sorry for the really long reply! And thanks again for your nice comment !!

OMG this is amazing! I have never seen anyone do something this amazing w/ pipe cleaners..or w/ any type of typical arts&crafts item. This is no where close to typical and the work is so detailed, you have some talent! My younger brother its a phoenix fanatic too! He'd love this!
