Original Description: A watercolor painting of Shiranui from the video game Okami. I felt in the mood to do some Okami fanarts as I'm pretty excited about Okami for the Wii
! I realized I had never drawn Shiranui, and while Amaterasu and Shiranui are....very similar XD...I wanted to try my hand at my version of Shiranui . And man, watercolors + Okamiish style= SO FUN!Watercolors -- 9"x12"

Actually, if you really paid attention to the game and played it through, Amaterasu and Shiranui are the same being. Shiranui was only a name given to Amaterasu by the villagers. This is evident, clearly, with each brush you acquired (By means when you gain a new power, when it hits Ammym you see a flicker of her true self). And of course at the very end when you have all of the brushes, she is her true self, which is how Shiranui looked.. Amaterasu's true form.

Honestly, I didn't like the way Shiranui was portrayed in the story. "Oh look how amazing Shiranui is, and how Ammy isn't as much". Suddenly our hero turns into somebody's inferior version.
Amaterasu is Shiranui's reincarnation, which doesn't literally mean they're the same individual. It means Ammy is the new, reborn version of Shiranui.
