Description
Flat colors of a full body shot I did of Drake's dragon form.
Part of a collage dedicated to him that I am doodling, working on his dragon design mostly, but some human headshots thrown in as well.
And one five lined skink. XD
I have always struggled with dragons, and even this one is flawed; but it's one of my best, and I'm proud to post it. ^^ I will likely shade this in the collage.
His superhero alias I have settled for, is Stormwing, due to his obvious appendages and the fact he breaths lightening from his mouth. Unlike many of the heroes, he does not use his human form at all in combat.

nice. finally get to see Drake in his dragon form. I've only seen the meme with him in his dragon form, and even then you could just see his dragon face, and nothing more...
nonetheless; he is a very beautiful dragon.
actually not one I've ever seen before... sure, I've seen dragons, tons before, but he's a unique one...

I confess, I am tentative with drawing dragons, they've long been a weak point for me, and I've been too nervous to try. Drake is actually proving to be great inspiration to get be away from that, and practice my draconic skills!
I will never stop chuckling to myself about his name being Drake, given his powers... XD

Oh, my. I can see what you are saying. I don't very like to draw dragons either. But I have drawn two for my Zodiac Collection. and that's a good thing Drake is practice for your skills. even though these skills you have for dragons are in the major zone.
Really? Why? Because all I can see that would make me chuckle is the face that his name Drake is close to Jake. Y'know? Jake Long, he's a dragon too.

I think dragons are intimidating for many artists who specialize in humans or humanoids. I see very few who can do both easily, and that is probably because they are just so vastly different. Dogs and cats are easier to try, because their very common in our day to day life. That's my idea, anyway. XD
Thank you! I must thank for that, he has always urged me to practice dragons for years, and with his insightful critics and the tutorials he would link me to, it's been exceedingly helpful.
The word "drake" is an old word for dragon, which is why I chuckle. XD

I actually like this one quite a bit! And I think it shows a side of Drake that had a hard time making it into roleplays. He's fun and open here, in a way that seems more then just a cover for his serious, deep felt nature, sort of the way he always wanted to be. And I think that sort of personal freedom to openly show his shapeshifting powers without fear is one of the big things that drove him to become so high profile as to become a super hero. He feels for the innocent of course, but I think what he wants most is to be accepted by the innocent for 'what' he is, not just 'who' he is. And the best way to achieve that is to prove it to them on a scale just as large as himself!
I would love to see you try some really big, grand wings on him sometime though, I think a super-sized wingspan would look really heroic on him! It did on Draco, so why not Drake?

I think you very much hit that square on about him! He desires acceptance, not just as Drake, but as the noble-hearted dragon that embodies his very spirit. ^^ And I should really throw that light-hearted, fun and gleeful manner into roleplays more, it's really what he has been missing, but I always knew he needed. Thank you for bringing that to light!

Lol! Indeed! I adore massive wingspans, as tedious as they are to draw and shade properly, just like how I prefer to depict tails.
