Yaaaaay!! ! It's DONE! ^__^! After long last, the Kenshin and Kaoru CG has finally been completed! ^_^! *does a little dance* . I'm very fond of this picture, even despite the heck it has put me through while CG-ing it (it took sooo loong x_X), because as many know, I'm a HUGE fan of Kenshin and his sweet relationship with Kaoru. Those two are just darling !!

Drawing the initial lineart for this image took quite some time. I drew it on a rather large and lengthy piece of paper, thinking at first that I would use natural medium to colour it in (I decided to go with CG after noticing later that the long paper didn't work well with my Derwents ¬_¬** ooiii... ). The kanji I drew from my mangas, and on the left it reads "Kamiya Kaoru", and on the right, "Himura Kenshin" The CG took the longest amount of time, especially concerning Kenshin's hair o_O;; Eee... bad, tiring memories, . I also made rather stupid errors by accidentally CG-ing in the wrong layers, LOL, and getting all the layers mixed up to result in even MORE work *snrk*. In the end, everything eventually came together, thankfully!

So this is my tribute to the heart-warming couple. Although their relationship is usually depicted happily, I decided to illustrate the more somber difficulties they undergo, which is why there is a very serious tone in this fanart. I tried to get the blue flowers to illustrate blue irises to represent Tomoe (Kenshin's past lover), and Kenshin's and Kaoru's entangled or "entwined" hair to represent their various hardships because of Kenshin's mysterious and saddening past. Although I chose to depict the many challenges they face, I also tried to illustrate their intimacy. The main message I wanted to convey was that no matter the hardships Kenshin and Kaoru may undergo, they will always remain together, like lovers entwined.
