The sword was the hardest part for me. Actually she's supposed to have two of them, but none of the poses I could find with two swords looked they really suited the character that well. (I had to use a ref for the pose b/c I really wanted it to look good.) XD I'm not used to drawing weapons and things. Drawing people holding objects in general isn't easy for me, though...

I'm editing this right now to add in her second sword. It's incredibly difficult for me to draw such straight lines like for a sword by free-hand but... It'll be okay. I'll figure something out. I'll have the new version uploaded hopefully soon.

I am wondering if maybe using a ruler could still work with a tablet... I'd just have to get it at the right angle or something.

The pen tool? I know some of the tools on PS, but I only use that Wand tool and the text tool. Cuz all I do is make stamps
Painting, I like. Cuz I can draw colorful lines and call it abstarct art

I have made and used my own poses for some things before... They come out sometimes. Do you have a camera? That can really help a lot, just pose and take pics of yourself in the pose. But it's still hard to draw from a real reference in anime style, because the proportions are not always the same...
And yeah that would take some time but I think I might try it next time I have to draw really straight lines.

I've done that before actually. But its much easier to take pictures of other people and use them as refs. My brother is a good model

Haha, I know there will be hell if I try it. I'm always so nervous about it. I'm scared to post my regular sketchy-drawings here, let alone any realism I might try to do. I haven't tried it yet, I'm still trying to figure out the concept of it first.

I use photoshop 7.0 and a Genius digital tablet. I want to upgrade to a Wacom someday, though. I tried using PaintToolSAI for a while, but it wasn't for me...
My first serious drawing was done in August 2009. I think that was when I started... So it has been over a year, wow time flies. But compared to some people who have been drawing their whole lives, I guess it's not that much. I always used to purposefully avoid it. <.<;; That's longer than I thought though.

I've been drawing since the age of 9... So, it's been 17 years!

That's probably the kind I want to get... I think it just depends which program you get used to first. I have seen amazing artwork done in SAI, but it just looks too complicated for me. When my 30 day trial ran out, I decided not to buy it. I could use it, but barely... And I still had to color in photoshop.
It's longer than I thought it was. And that's awesome. Most artists have always had an interest in it. And I've always wanted to draw, but I saw how horrible my drawings were, so I sort of repressed it and just learned to write really well instead. So it was like I tried to paint with words instead of colors.
I take breaks too, because I still love writing and it's like now I have to split my time between the two, lol. I want to get better at it and the only way is with more practice. I think yours are amazing though. <3

That's good you decided to hang on now! Drawing is really a matter of practice! Everyone can draw! But you draw already very well for such a period. ^^
And you write really amazingly good!!! Something everyone can't be good at!
That better to take breaks when you draw, like that, when you come back on your drawng, you look at it with a fresh eye and can correct it better! ^^
