Description Prompt: Draw your horse performing one of the airs (human optional, everything will be done on a surcingle so it's easy to have ghost reins)

~

"Hi there, I'm Dante and I'm not going to apologize for my accent-"

"Well you should-"

"And everyone except Misha, welcome to Haute école. Otherwise known as the 'Airs Above the Ground' there are 7 advanced movements, the Pesade, the Levade, the Croupade, the Courbette, the Ballotade, the Capriole, and the Mezair. With the exception of the Mezair, that is also the order in which the airs need to be taught; each air is simply the stepping stone for the next movement. There is also the Piaffe, which is necessary for a horse to be able to begin the airs, and the School Halt, which I consider an honorary air and personally use as the stepping stone to begin them."

"While all the airs can be performed with a rider it will likely take you years to achieve that, they're taught from the ground and it takes considerable practice to build up the muscles required. Zion here is 17 years old and he didn't start performing all the airs with a rider until he was 15. I was always taught to fully master one movement before you move onto the next, so master the Pesade with and without a rider before you move onto the Levade, master the Levade with and without a rider before you move onto the Croupade, and so on so forth."

"Unfortunately we don't have the years required to work on this so what we'll be giving you is the foundation. What you'll need to begin is most importantly a correct Piaffe, since the foundation of Haute école is built on collection. The Levade is considered the pinnacle of collection since all of the horses weight is balanced on its hindquarters and expected to be held there. We're going to do a quick run-through to display how one air leads into another and after that it's your turn. Especially watch their self-carriage here, it is possible to rush the  moves without perfecting collection and self-carriage first but it's very easy to ruin a good horse that way."

Dante is from Spain and he likes to make fun of Misha (italics) but hooooooohohoho Haute école is here. Reasonably it would be have your horse and rider doing either the school halt, pesade, or levade but this isnt real so draw whatever move you like the most.

Croupade v2
Courbette

Ballotade
Capriole
Mezair

idk why there's two different versions of the croupade but take your pick, i'm also throwing some bad examples in here so people know what to avoid

School Halt- Extremely hollow, horse obviously has no prior/correct collection training
Pesade- Extremely fluffy but hollow, visibly ewe necked
Levade- Horse obviously just rearing
Supposed to be a Ballotade but not even close, horse hollow and obviously just rearing
Capriole- Extremely hollow, horse just kinda throwing itself into the air

Bonus article about carriage since I keep throwing words around (inverted and hollow are the same)
