Description This was my 3rd homework assignment from Character design: making a 'cover art' for a 'superhero'. I pretty much freaked out when I couldn't think up of the heroes in tights variety and only chilled out when the teacher confirmed that 'superhero' was only a broad term and not necessarily just tights.

So I decided to use my shaman boy Orres and that's it. The leaves are a lot brighter than I usually color it (they're supposed to be dead leaves) but I went with it since it invoked something like magic and fire.

That is such an awesome character concept!
Love the spiral of the leaves into the character. Also love how the perspective of the trees lead the eye into the character as well.

That's probably Why he's got that mane wrapped all around him in the first place.

I really like how you handled the mane - the autumnal colours are really gorgeous. His eye colour stands out in comparison to that, which is a nice touch. ;u;

I was pretty happy with how this turned out because of the contrast of color schemes Orres has vs his spirit familiar.

Love the color choices and agreed w/ your choice of vivid hues. Did you purposely choose to do the piece with a very roundish style? (Lilo & Stich-esque?) I only say that 'cause Orres looks distinctly different from usual.

I dunno, I think I unconsciously tried to do a Bones thing with the lineart, and was looking for something like filipino (cept I guess turned more hawaiian instead) XD

A superhero with a red skull hat and mane of fiery leaves is way cooler than any dud in tights.

I love the wy you drew the leaves/mane. Definitely gives it that shamanistic/druidic feel. very cool.
