I'm not really sure what is the thing that truly astonishes me at this piece... maybe it's the colors, maybe the way you captured it...?

In any case the piece is very harmonic & peaceful to look at.

Oh and anyway, if this window with this "view" is in your home, I would be jealous.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kamal-Q In reply to ulyce [2010-07-04 12:13:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks you're too kind

Oh, no need to be jealous of the view, if you splash a bit of dirty water on your windows you'll have the same view as the setting suns rays struggle to get through

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ulyce In reply to Kamal-Q [2010-07-05 11:46:48 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, but even if I splash a water on my windows, I think I'll be still missing something... maybe other view than a lot, _lot_ block of flats.

My pleasure!

Suburbs aren't so bad after all

yeah but its rare that people appreciate what they have instead of lusting after what everyone else has got

Atmospheric window, Kamal! Very Dickensian! You've captured the light and reflections wonderfully!

We have sash windows too, but they don't look as great as these. Ours are more Edwardian were as yours look Georgian!

Great stuff!

Thanks again man - and to avoid flooding (and I imagine you're already drowning is messages )- I hope you'll accept this as a thanks for you other kind comments as well

British folks with their strange metaphors - though I used to hang with this pick pocket named Oliver in my younger days - we'd constantly badger Ol' Ebby - that guy was such a scrooge. One time we dressed up as ghosts and broke in to his house on Christmas, it was hilarious

My pleasure, Kamal!

I don't know what the Dickens your on about there though! I had great expectations for you, Kamal, but your just giving me hard times!

Kamal-Q In reply to Thricelight [2010-02-09 21:36:46 +0000 UTC]

dude if thats sarcasm - the internet makes it quite hard to decipher

Dickens - wrote a story about Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol - my reply was filled with pop culture references - I think that the comment was inspired by the fact that my windows were Dickensinian or something

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Thricelight In reply to Kamal-Q [2010-02-09 22:28:42 +0000 UTC]

Kamal, my apologies at bad humour!

Dickens also wrote 'Great Expectations' (one of my favourite stories!) and 'Hard Times' so I was suffusing my reply with my idea of humour! Also, and I think this was the major stumbling block in my poor attempt at a humourous reply, "What the Dickens!", is a common expression over here for "What on earth was that!". Probably used more by us oldies ...my sons, for example, would probably look blank at me and shake their heads in disgusted bewilderment! So all in all I was trying my best for a reply filled with Dickensian jollity!

I was hoping to follow on your Christmas Carol account, which had me chuckling, but I fear I may have caused unintentional offence, for which I profer my abject apologies, kind sir!

Ha ha! At least I don't feel bad anymore! We've had longer to practice being denser?!?

Kamal-Q In reply to Thricelight [2010-02-11 03:02:50 +0000 UTC]

That maybe true - but we've mastered and perfected the art of density

Ooh, indeed!

I really like how you've centred it, here, although... if you look closer, you get a feeling that it's been... mirrored.

Nevertheless, the way the colours contrast is great. I like the marks on the windows, too, and the effect it creates.

It is just a mirrored image - I liked the way it looked better that way - thats the fun in DSLR-ing
