que variedad de peinados femeninos, es curioso en mesoamerica siempre hubo mucha varidad de estilos de peinado, en suramerica la unica variacion era una o dos trenzas o el cabello suelto peinado hacia atras

I've been thinking about that sort of thing related to the women in my SF story. Janetta is Nahua, Zinja and Ixma are Oexacan, Calia is Pano (South American), and Cholan is an Islander (Caribbean).Gives me a few ideas.

Probably cloth twisted, of cotton or some plant fiber. The top middle might be shells tied around a twisted braid in the front of the head.
