So much detail! Everything is designed so well, nothing looks awkward or inproportionate. The shading is incredible, in short EXCELLENT! You really deserve more views.

Alright so a first attempt it's pretty amazing that you were able to pick out so much detail and yet still retain the proportions of this character without any distortions.Your general artisitic prowess at observation of your subject and I think the only thing that you do for improvement is to try delve a bit deeper into detail without fear and hesitation.Like for example the boots in your reference appear to be packed with detail if you could attempt carrying it across it would really improve general impression of your piece.And lastly jusging from the shading you applied to the face it seem that you are capable of great subtlety in shading so why not progress further from that and tighten up the shading a bit to give it a uniform look and add a bit of discernable highlights.Once again this is an amazing piece and if you hadn't mentioned it was your first time I would have assumed that you were a pro!!
