Last week in AI waifus - issue 25Welcome to issue number 25 🔥 - a journal where we take a look at last week's AI waifu creations (the waifu is a loose category).To celebrate this journal running for 25 weeks straight, let's take look behind the scenes a bit.First in the process is collecting the art. The watch feed is the obvious choice, but to discover new artists it's a manual crawling of the browse and topic pages. Your likes is also an inspiration.Even if you're not in the watch feed, you're being in some way categorized:- over 400 artists in the watch list- over 650 artists are candidates for a watch list- over 2700 artists rejected due to low-quality art or outside of my interest- over 400 artists rejected due to watermarking- over 700 artists rejected due to creating small resolution artIf you're on the candidate list, chances are you're making great art but I'm too lazy to make the jump to watch :). But I also do not watch artists that create hundreds of deviations in a matter of weeks (there's only so much time to go through my watch feed).If you're rejected, you can be promoted to candidate/watch list later depending on your future deviations.Collecting happens throughout the week, at the end of which around 1000-1500 pieces on average are collected, which are then grouped by author and whether they were never featured, featured in last issue, or issues before that for prioritization.Then comes the curation to select pieces for each journal issue, usually on Saturday.
