Your welcome and I sort of don't exactly blame Cass completely for what happened.
I mean yes he brought back Sam soulless however he didn't mean to do that to Sam. Also he had the 'best intentions' at heart for bringing Sam back. One, for Dean (which I am positive Destiel fans went all crazy about saying, "Castiel so brought Sam back for his Dean because he love, lovesΒ Dean and Dean rewarded him with amazing sex!" Yet we Wincest fans are no different) and two, for Sam because he may not have a 'profound' bond with him, but Sam is his friend.
So yeah, it is Cass's fault, but his intentions were pure in the beginning however he 'fell', you know?

I love Cass, I really do. I hate how people hate him. But sometimes I think writters and producers forgot that Cass is and will always be a Soldier, and nothing more.

I hate how people hate on him too and especially when they hate on Misha (I mean hating on the actor, the person himself who is the opposite of his character is other thing entirely), I personally think he's okay despite him not being who I support 100% on the show or in real life because I will always support and love J2 and Sam&Dean.
Cass will always be a soldier however he has become a soldier with free will. He knows this, definitely, but I think that free will and the 'paths' he can take can sometimes be overwhelming for him. It's like he still trying, despite the years, to get use to the idea and pick someΒ choicesΒ best to his understanding and knowledge onΒ his own termsΒ to adapt.Β I also believe that Cass is tired of picking the wrong choices, so he agrees to follow with someone's wishes, whether it be good or bad. Because in the end, he can at least say he didn't have a choice in the matter.
Cass will always be a follower (he's no better really from his brothers and sisters,Β it'sΒ sad)Β and I think that's why he is so close to Dean. Dean barks out orders and demand suggestions to be done, so he clings on to that. Probably reminds or let's him pretend that he's still the angel he once was before he fell from grace.
I could definitely be wrong though.

Thank you! Well, no, he is not, since he is Lucifer's vessel and Lucy is, technically, still an angel. BUT, this one was done at the end of season 5, so we didn't know what had happened to Sam after jumping into the pit. This was my idea, he becoming Dean's angel.

In "Dark side of the moon" Joshua tell them they'll be accepted in heaven, despite of all they have done. But Sam's soul ended trapped in the cage with Lucifer! That was so unfair!

I don't think he died thinking Dean would hate him necessarily, or else Dean wouldn't have showed up during 5x22 and been like "It's okay, I'm here" over and over again and I think he knows that.
But I do think he'll be afraid Dean will hate him for the stuff that RoboSam did to him, especially the vampire thing, but he won't worry about that until after he has his soul back anyway.
Yeah, I think he's afraid of the pain, and doesn't want to deal with what it'll be like to be able to feel things emotionally again, but first and foremost I think he just doesn't care all that much and figures hunting would be easier without a soul. He's apathetic.
