Description

Princess Peach Costume Dress

Super Mario Smash Bros Version

There is also bead embroidery around the seam and in the neck, which you can't see on the picture. All in all I really enjoyed sewing this dress (since I am such a huge fan of fantasy princess dresses!)

I'm looking forward to a photo session with Tangming as my lovely Princess Daisy!

Do you have the pattern processed? Can anymore buy it off you?

I'm really sorry, I'd have gladly provided you with any pattern you'd have needed, but I do not work with patterns and hence have nothing processed.
But I wish you good luck in finding a pattern, I'm sure there are many for Princess Peach Dresses!

Then may I use the photo as a guideline?

How much fabric did you use for the skirt? And is it a full circle skirt or two halves? ^^

Sorry for the late answer! If I remember correctly this was about 5 m pink taffeta (two layers + bodice). Do you ask about the pattern or the two layers? For the layers: One is entirely closed, while the other is open. For the patterns it would be neither full nor half because I used 5 pieces for one layer
Hope this could answer your question, if not feel free to ask further

Could I ask how you made the dark pink poofy 'skirt' on the hips,or have any advice on how to make them? :3

Sure you can! I'll try to explain as best as I can.

It's actually made in a really simple way!
The pattern has two edges.
The lower edge of the pattern is round as you see it in the picture.
The upper side is built up like this: 4 folds - ruffle - 4 folds. Now it's only about how to draw the pattern so that one "4 folds"-part lays next to the zip fastener and the rest ("ruffles" & 4 more folds) next to the bodice!

This probably sounds odd, so I tried to draw a picture of the pattern  >> oi58.tinypic.com/2e0plix.jpg

If you look at the upper edge you'll see two corners, the one in the back is steeper while the one in the front is almost non-existent! This is, because - as you see in the little pink doodle - the steep part will lay next to the zip fastener. If you don't want it to end in the zip-fastener but rather in the bodice as well, you'll have to reduce the angle of the corner.

When you've got the pattern, you can start folding and gathering the upper edge (if you don't know how to gather, there are many tutorials on the Internet!). Stitch everything and you've got your side puffs!

I now realise how terribly confusing my explanation was...

Please feel free to ask, if you've got any more questions!

This was really well explained! Made things more clear for me! ^_^ IfI want it at the back closed instead of open like Peach has,I just need to make the pattern longer? ^^

Yes, exactly. You could make a "one-piece" pattern, leaving out the folded edge in the back and mirror the whole thing instead.

Oh,that will do! I am planning on making an elven dress, and went to the fabric store after college. Just, satin is too shiny, chiffon is see-through and silk too expensive,it is really tough finding the right fabric to create a nice gown on a budget.

I'm sure you'll find the perfect fabric if you keep searching, don't worry! Maybe you'll find a nice viscose- or cotton mixture or something even better. ^^
Good luck on your elven dress & happy sewing!

Thank you!  Actually I could work intensely on this piece, so it only took about a week or two to finish the Peach and Daisy dress ^^

Thank you very much! Though the best part of the embroidery is invisible on this picture .
