Description Taken at Fushimi Inari, known for its many many toriis, or gates. It took a good while to get a clear shot as many places we visited were busy. I cropped this to center the path better and increased the contrast slightly to enhance the vermillion (it was actually drizzling and dreary).

Looks like a tunnel.

Very good shot.

Such a classic shot, and the feel of the composition is quite comfortable. I've always wanted to visit Japan and take pictures there. If it's okay, can I ask what camera you used to take this picture?

Sure! I got the Canon Rebel XT for Christmas for this specific purpose. :-p I only have the standard lens, which is a shame... I would have loved a macro lens for all the cherry blossoms... :-p Prior I used a Fujifilm FinePix from like five or six years ago and still got great shots, so I think it's really about luck.

Ahh, I see. I think the 18-55 (that's the standard lens with your camera, if I'm not mistaken) is a good lens for this picture, but as you might have noticed, the lens is a bit soft and hard to manage at wide angle ranges (~18mm, a barrel distortion is apparent).

I'll look forward to your pictures. Tell me when you get a new lens, I'd love to see what pictures you'll take with them.
