Edited the eyes as per the critique. Hope its fine now.A picture done for everyone who supported me during my two last personal journals. It really lifted up my spirits and helped me cope up with my issues. I was feeling much better on the same day I posted the journal, and was able to look at life more positively. Thank you so much, it means a lot to me. (If you guys are interested, you can have a wallpaper version of this picture since it is for you, just note me and I will send it to you)
I guess its a drawing of myself, although I am still planning to color my hair pink (rose pink), and should be getting that done this coming Saturday. So I guess its close (my hair is a bit longer than this, but I will get them cut to about this much as well).
I am not very experienced much in simple cell shading, so this is also like a practice piece (although I think I did cheat a bit). Hope it turned out ok.

The artist has created a very striking anime piece that follows the tried and tested style that works. It is free from unnecessary detail but adds just enough in the way of clothing folds to stay true to the anime approach.
The Line art is very sharp and clean with little to no overlaps and the shading is perfect for the anime style. The gradual change in contrast of the hairs shadow is flawless and the extra lighting lines on the top add just enough to help the image feel alive.
The eyes are very expressive and well done again for the style of art but I can’t help but feel they are off slightly. I’m not sure but to me the right eye is looking at the viewer whereas the left is looking away.
The clothing is very well done with perfect folds giving the shirt a feeling of flow which is crucial to making it look believable (I should takes notes myself!) The added detail of the pattern around the collar and the arms gives it a very feminine touch.
The hair is also unsurprisingly spot on. With the long following hair being kept simple but the attention to where the hair would be in a slight breeze is nothing short of textbook in its quality.
The background while simple really adds to the piece giving it a more joyful feel. The choice of colours is perfect and reminiscent of a bright summers day.
I do feel the mouth is a little too white and would look better with a distinctive teeth line or coloured in reddish pink to give it a more open more quality. However, my knowledge of the anime style is limited so this might be standard practice so forgive me if that is the case.
Overall, it is clear that this person has a natural talent for creating anime style pieces. Everything from the line art to the colour control to that expressive feeling only found in anime is faultless. It has also inspired me to have a go at anime for myself.
I can easily rate this piece a very high level 4 touching at level 5 (out of 5) and I’m sure there will be many pieces in this persons gallery that will be in level 5.
