And Shizu-Chan just found a poor lost kitten. Begging him, with those big innocent eyes, purring as it curls it's tail around it's small little body, fur in a mess. It keeps staring at him and makes a cute, short and squeaky meow. Unable to resist how cute it is, he takes it home with him and names it Izaya because it looks like the little flea in kitten form.

yeah, though I have a bad habit of accidently saying something I shouldn't have, even to me it seemed like an ok thing to say.
Like there was this one people I recently talk to (about a week or two ago), we were having a nice convo, or so I thought. because their last reply, for some reason, they hid it. It was in my in box so I could still see it, but I couldn't reply. I thought it was weird, but decided to continue in notes. but they never replied. and they did read the note, and they've submitted something new to the club at least once since then, so I know they have been on since then...but I don't know what I could had said to make them stop talking to me...

sure there may be more Izaya work then Shizuo, but Shizuo has a ton of fanart as well.
Izaya, Shizuo and Celty are likely the three most drawn out of the entire series.
Shinra is usually only drawn when paired with Celty, Erika is usually only drawn when fantasying about Shizaya. (usually, not always)
I'll admit, I'm guilty of all of the above
I've drawn Izaya 21 times, Shizuo 16, Celty 11, Shinra's always with Celty (but Celty's not always with him), and only Erika I have she's imaging Izaya and Shizuo getting married. (though this isn't counting things in my scraps or haven't posted at all yet.)
Point is, Shizuo has lots of art :3
I suppose you could argue there's not much "cute: art of him. but I've seen quite a bit of that too :3

Hahaha, I know that there is still plenty of Shizuo art! What I mean is that he seems to be getting less love than Izaya ... Everywhere I go, I see Izaya fangirls. xD Even if it’s a Shizaya/Izuo video or picture, the comments are usually about Izaya. Perhaps Shizuo fangirls are less ecstatic – I don’t know myself. Or maybe I happen to come across wrong things. xD
And you’re absolutely right about Shinra too. ; ^ ; If it were a Shinra picture, I would have said the same. Shinra and Shizuo are my favourite Durarara!! characters, I like them roughly equally; I wouldn’t be able to pick my favourite (but I liked Shinra first). Perhaps I just feel like everyone else thinks differently ... because I hated Izaya the first time I watched the anime and most of the fans seemed to loved him. (I don’t hate Izaya any more, but yeah. Still not my favourite. Even though I happen to talk about him most, for some reason. xD)
I don’t mind pictures of Shizuo that are not cute either (I love badass/hot pictures of him even more!). I just wanted to express my happiness at Shizuo getting more love, because I prefer him to Izaya.

I admit it, I'm foremost an Izaya fan-girl. Izaya IS the one that got my into DRRR in the first place after all :3
But I love Shizuo a lot too. He's such a sweet heart underneath all that anger. Even though I love Izaya more, if I had to choose with to go on a date with (or more), it'd be Shizuo without a doubt.

Yeah, or if he's not with Celty, he's with the rest of the "Raira four" (Izaya, Shizuo, Kyohei, Shinra) Shinra's so cute. He's definitely high on my fav characters list. Him and Celty are my OTP.
Izaya...to me he's the kind of guy you wanna: punch, kiss, then kick in the nuts.

For Shizuo and Izaya I love all of the above. For the other characters, the "hot/sexy" stuff makes me feel weird. Specially when it's of the kids.
Does your love for Shizuo extend to his Alternates? Or just Original Shizuo?
There alternates are the only way I can truly ship Shizaya (even if it's Izuo, I still call it Shizaya p; )
They just hate each other too much for me to ship it with them in canon (though people interpret their relationship all sorts of ways). and I support canon above all, even if I hate it. Canon is what makes DRRR, DRRR in the first place after all.
But the alternates, the personality is just to the person drawing/writing. Like Psyche is nothing like Izaya, but he looks just like him.
So as such, I'll ship: Psyche x Delic, Tsukishima x Hachimenroppi, and Psychedelic-420 x Virus-138 (these two aren't well known though)
Izaya's my fav, so I drawn him the most, but that fur DX it kills me when I'm doing a proper picture. I have LOTS of DRRR art planned and most involve Izaya is some way, be it Original or alt. 58 pics started (not all are DRRR, but most), only 22 won't have Izaya. And I still have others I haven't started

See! XD What I mean is, I rarely see someone who’s primarily a Shizuo fan. There are plenty of people who love Shizuo but who are first and foremost Izaya fans. XD Pretty much all of my friends so far are Izaya fangirls – perhaps that’s why I’m under that impression.
I can’t express how I feel about Izaya with simple words. If he were real, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near him. xD' I want my peace and quiet, thank you very much. But he’s an interesting character and I can’t hate him. And I like to bully my favourite characters, so he can be there to bully Shizuo a bit as well. /shot I don’t know.
Shinra/Celty is my DRRR!! OTP as well. As for the young cast, I only really like fluff ... otherwise it feels awkward.
And as for my love for Shizuo ... Well, I suppose it’s mostly for the original Shizuo. I don’t care for the alternates much. I like art and some fan fics with them, but I don’t look for those – I just sometimes happen to come across them and then sometimes I’ll fave and all.
I suppose I love the originals too much to love the alternates. I’m fine with people shipping those pairings. I, however, prefer the regular Shizuo/Izaya. And I don’t think it’s canon either, so you won’t see me trying to convince people that they’re meant to be. I greatly enjoy the author’s ship-tease and it’s more of a crack pairing that I like.
I am considering using the alternates for a future project, though ... But we will see.
I haven’t drawn any proper DRRR!! fanart yet. At the moment I’m struggling with my drawing style, so I mostly write. Good luck with all those drawings, because 58 sounds like A LOT.

Yeah, if I met him in real life I'd probably only hate him. Izaya's my fav, but I think it's funny when he gets hit by Simon and the trash can(don't know why so many people call it a vending machine...)
I never even heard of "OTP" until I got to the DRRR fandom lol my only other OTPs are Psychedelic-420 x Virus-138 (god I love them so much o-o) and Sora and Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. Other series and things I don't really think about it too much.
As for the kids, yeah fluff between some one of their own age. I hate when people make them "sexy" or when they pair them with an adult character. Example Izaya x Kida. Just....no
I don't really look for them either unless I'm looking for references. I mean there are those I really like, but I still prefer the Originals over all. I actually avoid fanfiction with the alternates in them. I dislike when they have both the original and 1 or more of the alts exist in the same world. (I do the same, but opposite with OCs. I'm fine with them in fanfiction, but drawings bother me. I honestly don't know why though.)
I'm 100% cool with people shipping Shizaya, I understand the appeal. they're sexy, they're sexier together. I just don't like when people throw canon away, or try to argue, "it's almost canon anyways", or "It might as well be canon". um, no, it's not. All that Shizaya stuff in the canon is fan service. And a lot if not most Shizaya fans would't had even thought of it if it wasn't for Erika. Erika and possibly Shinra shipping it is probably the ONLY canon bit of Shizaya. Erika's an Otaku fujoshi, so it makes sense she would ship it regardless of what Shizuo and Izaya truly feel. Shinra is hard to say, but he might think of Izaya and Shizuo as romantic rivals for Celty, so thinking them being gay of each other might make him feel better about her being near them. He sounded super jealous that Celty had talked to Izaya directly, and finding out that Celty had been hanging out with Shizuo. (I won't ship Celty and Shizuo, because how I see their relationship, is to me, the prefect friendship. However I get a bit hypocritically here, because I do ship Erika and Walker for practically the same reason. BUT, I'm also fine with them being BBFs forever.)
Though I don't mind it if it's crack, because, well..it's crack XD Or it's alternate reality. Or they have some big event that makes them change their mind about each other. stuff that's more likely to happen, understand? (also when you said "author" at first I misunderstood and thought you meant like fanfiction author, not that original creator. XD but yeah, fan service is fun, just don't take it seriously guys

Original Shizaya, I support, but don't ship. Shipping is being on the boat, maybe even steering it. Supporting is waving and smiling at the boat while it passes by. Also, You don’t have to be on the boat to enjoy the sunset.
I mentioned that because I do have Shizaya, Shizayaish stuff planned. IT's so easy to play with and come up with stuff. I have so many ideas >:V So much stuff to do XD
Good luck with you're own things. Writing is hard. "Unreal reality" is only my third attempted at writing anything. So I really glad people are actually showing interest in it. But more people that are interested, the more I'm worried about disappointing people D:

Oh totally, my favourite scenes in the anime are Izaya getting hit by that trash can and Shinra walking in on Shingen who was showering. XD
My biggest OTP is Takasugi/Shouyou from Gintama (which is a pretty much non-existent pairing, I’ve probably seen 2 people who like it, other than me), then it’s Shinra/Celty.
And I can see why people write Izaya/Kida – I was planning to write something with them too, but I can only really see it as a very dark fan fic. Because I don’t think Kida would ever want to have anything to do with Izaya after all that stuff (and he’s got a girlfriend, even if people often seem to forget/ignore her), just like Shizuo. He works for him now, but I don’t think he would ever consent to doing anything more intimate then that. Just no.
I sometimes read stories with the alternates, but also usually if they’re not thrown into a story that already has the originals ... although, like I said: I’ve been considering a fan fic with them AND with the originals. But I wanted to make some of the alternates their children— umm, I mean, e.g. Tsugaru and Tsukishima being Shizuo’s sons, and Sakuraya and Hachimenroppi being Izaya’s (not too fond of mpreg, seriously ...), an alternative reality where Shizuo’s a widower and Izaya’s a divorcee. I shouldn’t be writing it here because someone might beat me to it (aka ‘be inspired by’ my idea ♥), lol. But I must check out those Psychedelic-420 and Virus-138 alternates beforehand, because maybe I could use them instead of the other alternates ... or maybe I won’t write it at all. xD' We’ll see!
And as for OCs, I generally avoid them. If I find something that doesn’t sound like a horrible self-insert, I’ll give it a try. There are a few fan fics with OCs that I’ve enjoyed and I’m not saying all are bad, because it’s obviously not true. What bothers me more than OCs are those Canon/Reader fics that I see pretty much daily.
Ahh, I feel the same about Shizaya, Karisawa and hypothetically Shinra shipping them. (I joked about that when I first saw the episode where Shinra introduced Shizuo and Izaya to each other. And when Celty told him of Karisawa’s ShizuIza theories, he said, ‘You know, they actually might—’ I think it happens only in the anime though, not in the novel ...) And I also like Karisawa and Yumasaki as a pairing, but they’re a wonderful pair of best friends, so I’m fine with them staying that way as well.
I love crack, and when something’s not crack, it should make sense. So I pretty much hate every story where Izaya suddenly starts being a vulnerable girly guy (and he’s not trolling) or Shizuo decides he loves Izaya in a matter of minutes, without any good reason.
I like your concepts of shipping and supporting. You put it quite nicely with that metaphor. xD

Why do people insist on pairing people who hate each others guts? I mean, how would you feel if someone paired you with the one person you hate more than anything?
I don't really like Saki, but I support Kida x Saki, though only cuz it's canon. Personally I think he's better off without her. But Kida wouldn't be Kida with out all the drama. And that same drama fulls the story for DRRR itself.
I only see Izaya and Kida together if Izaya forced himself on Kida. But I like to think he isn't a pedo. Creeper/stalker, yes, but not a pedo. Plus I don't believe he's interested in such things period, unless it's digging up dirty on a person, for one of his jobs or a person game of his. Speaking of pedoships...people also like aging Shizuo down THEN pairing him with Izaya, while Izaya is still an adult

My headcanon for Virus and Psy are, there digital beings that can't die. They have the deadly love-hate relationship that people makes Shizuo and Izaya have, but they do it out of sheer boredom (as they can't die). this includes actually "killing" each other. Specfically, Virus is both a sadist and masochist. Has fits when he doesn’t get his way. Has sharp teeth. Wields both dual pistols and a katana, the latter being more preferred. Loves to dance. Lovey dovey stuff makes him wanna puke. Swears a lot. Heavy sleeper.
For Psy it's Generally emotionless. Thinks Vi is annoying. Only “kills” and has sex with Vi to stop him from complaining. Uses bigger type guns and a single pistol. Often shoots Vi in the head to shut him up.

I have a few stories with OCs I'm going to first, as well as a few with no added characters. Either way, unless it's crack, I'll try to make each character as "in character" as possible, while still fitting with the story.
I wanna try a Reader insert, but do something more likely to happen. Like reader has a crush on Izaya, but even though he strings you a long for a bit, ultamtely he rejects you. (also I hate when you don't know how to spell a word and spell check isn't helping...)
Unfortunately I have not read the novels yet. And I'm a bit iffy on doing so. There's no official translation, and the translations available are spotty. parts are missing, and there done by different people. I wish it'd come out in English officially.
Erika and Walker...just them being together in general is great. there definitely favs of mine.
Stories that keep them in character, but manage to get them to fall in love in a convincing way are the best ones. Or something where one acts the way they do because it's one sided-love, and the other truly does hate them. Though I'm a little worried in my story, Izaya might be a little too out of character. But mostly I only have rough written versions of senses for later on, and some random idea's I'd like to fit in somewhere that's appropriate.
There's this short crack story. It's the stupid thing ever, but it still makes me laugh. I think it might be "It's so stupid, it's funny" type thing. least for me.

I feel bad for Saki. But in the fan-translated novels there wasn’t much about Kida or her, so I don’t really know if she really gets over Izaya completely or not ... I try to understand most characters and so I don’t dislike her. Most of those Izaya worshippers were broken girls, so she probably had it rough too, before she met Izaya.
I can’t seriously ship Izaya with anyone. He just loves humans, and not romantically. I consider all Izaya pairings complete crack. (And I like many of those, but they’re still crack to me.)
Uhh, tell me about this ... I haven’t seen this with DRRR!! yet, but my 2nd favourite Gintama pairing gets quite a lot of that. One character is de-aged, and usually also gets animal features (ears, tail), and then they’re paired with each other ... I find mostly that when searching for normal pictures with the pairing.
As I’m not too fond of the alternates myself, I’m not sure either if I’ll go that way – I don’t even know if I’ll write that story or not. I’m not that good when it comes to writing multichapter stories, so I try to avoid them. =/ Lately I’ve been considering writing a (possibly multichapter) Shinra/Celty story instead. I should probably finish the one I’m already working on first, though.
Thanks for the link – the alternates seem interesting. Such a relationship concept would work well with those alternates, I believe.

I don’t like reader-inserts for the sole reason that I think it’s ... well, a bit, uh. I’m not sure how to put it. What I mean is that most of those stories portray the reader as someone I could never identify with, and it makes me feel awkward when someone tells me how I would be feeling and what I would do when I’m sure I’d behave differently. I think I know that better than the fic’s author. XD No, I don’t feel offended or anything – I’m too old (although I’m not old at all!) to childishly take something like this personally. It just seems a bit pointless to me, I suppose. If I want to fantasise about being with a character, then I’ll just do it myself and it’ll be more realistic than what someone else would write. Something like that.
Ah, yes, it is a bit irritating. I read Anni-Fiesta's volumes 4-6 + 9 and the other translated parts, but I wish I could read all of them and be sure that they’re translated accurately. I liked the language she used in her translations, but I can’t say anything about accuracy, since I’m not a Japanese speaker.
I don’t know if you’ve read this one, but here: [link] It’s probably my favourite Shizaya fan fic to date. For some reason I haven’t reviewed it yet, I haven’t even faved it ... Even though I loved it so much that I’ve remembered it since the day it was published. Ahh. I’ll leave the tab open so that I can review when I get up. The author said it was OOC, but I didn’t think it was. Or rather, even if were OOC, it was justified so well that I didn’t even notice. Well, that’s my opinion, though.
Go for it. I love crack. And many other people do.

I think I’m not following it ... There aren’t really any DRRR!! stories that I add to my follows, because I visit the archive a couple times a day, so I’m always up to date with all of them anyway, and I don’t want to get my hopes up when I see a new email message from FanFiction.Net. I always hope someone finally decided to review/fave something of mine when there’s mail ... XD You’re lucky because my only multichapter (3 chapters so far) DRRR!! fic has only received 10 reviews, 19 followers and 4 favourites and it’s been up since the beginning of November. So, some 3 reviews per chapter, and it’s usually the same people reviewing. 
And now I’m finally off to bed, so good night for now! ♥
