Olli

Nils Egerbrandt was born on May 11th 1926 in Högalid, a suburb of Stockholm, in Sweden. Specialising in childrens' comics, he created a number comics in the 1950s, such as Mickel och Mackel, Geniet, Frisk och Rask, and Olli. The latter title, about the adventurous eskimo boy Olli, became his most famous own creation, appearing in as a daily strip in the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, as well as in the weekly magazine Året Runt, and in the monthly Tuff och Tuss comics magazine (1953-1958).

In 1960, he took over the popular Swedish comic strip 91:an Karlsson from Rudolf Petersson (1896-1970).

Egerbrandt officially retired as a comic artist in 1991; however he continued drawing the 91:an comic until his death on February 4th 2005.
