Description
Spontin (Belgium), August 12th 2018Hauling service 5420 out of Bauche and Dorinne-Durnal to Spontin and Ciney, engine 6219 blends in with her surroundings as she enjoys her last hurrah.
6219 - which was built in 1962 and entered service as '212.119' with the Belgian Railways on December 18th 1962, was restored in 2016 to her '1970' livery by maintenance crew of the Merelbeke depot during their spare time. However, she is now time-expired, which means that on returning to her home depot she will be withdrawn from service. Her future is not yet sure, but there is a chance that she will be preserved.
Tagging along on the back of service 5420, and barely visible in this shot, is locomotive 6305 of the Kinkempois depot.

Well, her fate still isn't clear yet. It might be preservation, it might be reclamation, there's even a chance she might end up sporting the blue livery after all.
But yes, for now she won't be going anywhere soon, which makes it all the more special she went all the way to the other side of the country for one of her last 'deployments'...
