It's not the WRITERS fault, it's the animators fault! Arakawa TOLD them to create there own out come and NOT to follow the manga. Then she decided she wanted the Manga as an anime too.

eh, I actually liked the first series more, just because Ed didn't get all muscely and because it was more original and less cliche.
I had brotherhood figured out by episode 10, IDK I just thought series one was cuter. I thought it was hillarious how everyone was obsesses with Edward. But in Brotherhood he and Al were almost side characters at the very end. *sigh* I hate it when the main characters aren't special to anyone

I also agree, the first anime was good, this one was BETTER!! Most of my reasons seem to go for proper character development, as in Alphonse actually DOING something instead of mopeing about all the time.
Plus, some of the English cast are the same people who voiced Baccano, (exhales breath of hot air) I'm sorry, did it suddenly get AWESOMER in here.

Well the first anime was horrible. Sorry but it had to be said. To add to what xMDOMMx said, the chapters where coming out once a month so yeah, not going to have it be close to where they started. It's just sad that it couldn't have at least be good if it was going somewhere else.... I guess one could say that being lazy can result in bad writing.

Hold Up! I never said the first series was bad. The way I got into FMA was because I watched the anime first. I made through all 51 episodes in a week, while I admit sticking to the manga (which I have yet to get very far in) might have been better because now you have to start over again, does not mean the first series was bad.

I know you didn't say it, I said it. And in all honesty, IMO, the first anime wasn't good at all. The story they went with was filled with plot holes, characters acting stupid and many other things I can go on about. As much as I love FMA I can't in all honesty ever say that the first one was good.

still, they could've taken more season pauses, allowed the series to catch up a bit. I just thought it was funny how they had to star over. Maybe that means their impacient rather than lazy
