ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! lol I NEVER would have guessed that you were a beginner. Are you one in the sense that you've never worked with soft pastels before, or that you're new to art period?

well i never had any art classes or anything, and that was my second attempt at pastels (as well as with actual colors)

I've also never had any classes or anything! I have pastels, I haven't gotten around to using them yet. I've been drawing and trying to paint (which I suck at lol).

you should def use them!! they are SOOO much fun to use. i put the paper on the wall (with tape) and just smudge the pastel with my fingers... if you use a big paper you dont need to be so careful, so its a lot fun.

lol no way. I actually went to go do a piece and realized my pastels are chalk lol So, definitely won't be getting anything like yours. I don't even know how to use chalk pastels! lol

chalk pastels? lol never heard of it. like, actually, i have a white chalk pencil that the woman in the store said its the same thing as the white pastel pencil... o.O

Really, chalk pastels are just a glorified piece of sidewalk chalk lol They're a lot cheaper than soft pastels, and schools use them a lot in art classes. I'm just going to have to do some research on how to use them correctly, and eventually go buy some soft pastels.

Those eyes are so pretty! I wish I could do pastel drawings, but mine always turn out suckish!! Really nice colours!!
