I'm working on a Victorian-era, Gibson Girl mermaid, with Art Nouveau and Victorian advertisement influences. This watercolor piece is for The Copper Kettle tea house in Foley, Alabama. The two sisters that own it serve the best tea and delicious scones and I've been a frequent visitor there since they opened last year. I was their Artist of the Month guest for June, in which they showcased several of my mermaid artworks, as well as had an amazing "Under the Sea" themed dinner party/tea-tasting in my honor. I received great exposure from the experience!!

So with their kindness in mind, I wanted to draw them a piece to hang in their historical building; the Copper Kettle is located in the last remaining shotgun house of the railroad that used to run all the way to the beach here on the Gulf Coast of Alabama.

BTW, I WILL BE SELLING PRINTS OF THIS PIECE.

The original will NOT be available, but if you are interested in a special edition print, I will have 10 giclee prints with foil, gold leaf and copper wire worked into the art. I will post more info soon!!
